Tender chicken breast, lightly breaded and pan-fried to golden perfection, topped with our house marinara and melted mozzarella. Served over a bed of spaghetti.
Serving Wilmington Since 1940
What began as three humble tables in Mrs. Tersilla Robino's kitchen on Howland Street has grown into one of Delaware's most cherished dining institutions. Italian immigrants would gather at her home, drawn by the aroma of handmade pasta and sauces crafted from family recipes passed down through generations.
Word spread quickly, and soon guests were lining up outside her door. In 1940, Mrs. Robino opened the restaurant at its current Union Street location, where her legacy continues today. Still family-owned and operated by her descendants, we remain committed to the same traditions of warmth, hospitality, and authentic Italian cooking that made her kitchen famous.
Whether it's a weeknight dinner, a special celebration, or simply a craving for authentic Italian, we'd love to welcome you to our table. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
Walk-ins are always welcome based on availability.
From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, let us bring the warmth and flavor of our kitchen to your special occasion. Our catering team crafts custom menus that honor tradition while accommodating your unique needs.
We also offer private dining experiences in our restaurant for groups seeking an unforgettable evening in a classic Italian setting.
For over 80 years, families have gathered at our tables to share meals, make memories, and celebrate life's moments. Here's what they have to say.
"My family has been coming here for three generations. The ravioli tastes exactly like my grandmother's—and that's the highest compliment I can give. This is what Italian food should be."
"We hosted our rehearsal dinner here and it was absolutely perfect. The staff treated us like family, and every single guest raved about the food. A truly special place."
"I've eaten at Italian restaurants all over the country, and Mrs. Robino's is the real deal. You can taste the history in every bite. The chicken parm alone is worth the trip to Wilmington."
"Warm, welcoming, and wonderfully authentic. The moment you walk in, you feel like you're stepping into someone's home. That's exactly what good Italian dining should feel like."
